Design Overview
Known as the "City of Trees," Sacramento's tree-lined streets provide shade from the region's vibrant summer sun. Shadows contrast with bright sunlight as it filters through the canopy above, offering a natural rhythm to the landscape. The Central Terminal B design is reflective of the central valley between two mountain ranges and the canopy effect of the tree-lined streets.
Central Terminal B
Sacramento International Airport's Central Terminal B will embody the Sacramento Region's "Sense of Place." The central landside terminal is the centerpiece of the facility, with raised roof lines framed by dramatic structural members overhead. Natural light filtering in from above creates a dynamic rhythm of light and shadow, reinforcing movement through the facility.
